Benchmark Information

Open Rates:

  • 60%+ = World class
  • 55%+ = Excellent
  • 50%+ = Great
  • 45%+ = Good
  • 40%+ = Okay
  • 30%+ = Bad
  • 20%+ = Very bad

Click-Through Rates (CTR):

  • 10%+ = World class
  • 7-10% = Excellent
  • 5-6% = Great
  • 3-4% = Good
  • 2-3% = Okay
  • 1-2% = Bad
  • <1% = Very bad

Ad Click-Through Rates:

  • 3% = World class
  • 2% = Excellent
  • 1.5% = Great
  • 1% = Good
  • 0.75% = Okay
  • 0.50% = Bad
  • 0.25% = Very bad

Unsubscribe Rates:

  • 0.10% = World class
  • 0.20% = Excellent
  • 0.25% = Great
  • 0.35% = Good
  • 0.50% = Okay
  • 0.75% = Bad
  • 1% = Very bad

Note 1: Open rate data may be unreliable due to Apple Mail Privacy Protection (MPP).

Note 2: Weekly newsletters typically have higher unsubscribe rates than daily newsletters.

Note 3: Also note that Click-Through Rate is not the same as Click Rate. Click-through rate (CTR) measures clicks against only the emails opened or ads viewed, while Click rate measures clicks against total emails sent or ad impressions, making CTR typically higher and more reflective of content engagement among those who actually saw it.
