Spocket

The Origin of Spocket

In 2017, Saba Mohebpour, a pre-med student at the University of British Columbia, faced significant challenges when starting his dropshipping store. The cumbersome process of negotiating with suppliers and ensuring reliable stock led to the birth of Spocket in late 2017.

Revolutionizing Dropshipping

Spocket, short for "store in your pocket," simplifies dropshipping by connecting retailers with thousands of vetted suppliers from the US and Europe. Unlike traditional dropshipping, which often involves long shipping times and questionable product quality from suppliers in China, Spocket makes sure everything goes smoothly, by only allowing vetted suppliers on the platform.

It also uses a machine learning algorithm to present the best products to the retailers.

Growth and Expansion

After its launch in 2017, Spocket quickly gained traction. By 2018, they had secured $2 million in seed funding from investors like 7 Gate Ventures and Mistral Venture Partners. This influx of capital allowed Spocket to enhance its platform and expand its supplier network, emphasizing quality and efficiency.

Spocket's approach attracted over 30,000 retailers within a year...madness!

The Shopify Growth Hack

Spocket seamlessly integrates with Shopify, making it easy for retailers to add products from Spocket's vast supplier network directly into their Shopify store. The integration allows for automatic inventory updates, order processing, and real-time tracking, ensuring that retailers can manage their dropshipping business efficiently. With just a few clicks, Shopify users can browse, select, and start selling high-quality products sourced locally from the US and Europe, significantly enhancing their store's reliability and customer satisfaction.

Why It's Different?

Spocket allows retailers to select products from local suppliers, ensuring two to five business days shipping, and provides 24/7 customer support, automated order tracking, and inventory updates. About 45% of its suppliers come from Etsy, offering unique and high-quality items.

Building Trust and Quality

Spocket's rigorous vetting process ensures reliable suppliers. Retailers benefit from pre-negotiated discounts, which help them maintain healthy profit margins. Additionally, Spocket enables custom branding on packaging, enhancing customer loyalty.
